Welcome to the National Federation of the Blind of Hawaii! We are the Hawai`i affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind NFB.

The NFB of Hawaii has chartered a a Merchants Division, and four chapters.

NFB of Hawaii, Honolulu chapter
the National Federation of the Blind of Hawaii Honolulu chapter will hold its regular meeting on the third Saturday on the following months: June, august, September, October, and November.
For all parents and teachers of blind and visually-impaired children:

There is a new parents' group starting for all parents of blind and visually impaired children on the third Saturday of most months during the final half hour of the Honolulu Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind monthly meetings. The meeting will be held at the Elks Club Lodge in Waikiki (parking is available). The chapter meeting will be held from 10am to 12 noon, with the parents' meeting from 11:30 to noon. Parents, children, and teachers are all invited to attend the chapter meetings as well as the parents' meeting. And everyone is invited to stay for lunch in the Elks Club dining room after the meeting.

The tentative schedule of topics (this is open to revision as determined by parents) will be:

January--How to get summer programs for your child.

February--When and how to get Rehabilitation Services for my child.

March--What is a learning assessment and what can it do for my child.

April-- Legal help for your child within IDEA.

May--Getting blind kids plugged in to community activities.

NFB of Hawai`i, Anuenue (Rainbow) Chapter
The National Federation of the Blind of Hawaii Anuenue (Rainbow) Chapter will hold its next meeting on:
Date: Saturday, January 17, 2009
Time: 12:00 P.M. (Noon) to 2:00 P.M.
Place: 747 Amana Street, Suite 407

We will be sharing pizza for lunch from Sam's club. Please call one of the chapter presidents if planning to attend this meeting so we can have a head count of people.

Kauai Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Hawaii
The Kauai chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Hawaii hold its meetings regularly on the first Thursday of the Month. Meeting Place will change from time to time so check here for meeting location.
On January 8, 2009 the meeting will be held at the State Building 2nd floor conference room at 10:00 AM. We will be having election and installation of officers, annual dues payment, and planning the 2009 calendar. Lunch will be ordered from the No. 1 Chinese Restaurant.
